S-Spine and Nerve Hospital has organized the 2024 International Advanced Spinal Endoscopic Masterclass in Bangkok to disseminate knowledge on the treatment of spinal disorders using various advanced techniques that have evolved over the past year. The event included presentations of research findings and the transmission of various spinal treatment techniques in different formats. There were also academic talks to exchange knowledge for the advancement of spinal disorder treatments.
For this talk, there was knowledge exchanged among physicians from S-Spine Hospital and physicians from abroad. It included techniques such as Percutaneous Stenoscopic Lumbar Decompression (PSLD) for treating lumbar spinal stenosis, Percutaneous Stenoscopic Cervical Decompression (PSCD) for treating cervical disc herniation, and Endoscopic Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (Endo ACDF) which involves surgery of the cervical disc from the front and fusion of the joints. Additionally, Dr. Saran Jinadarah provided insights into thoracic spinal surgery with an endoscope using Percutaneous Stenoscopic Thoracic Decompression (PSTD) techniques. Dr. Chumpon Kakanan presented research findings on spinal fusion using Endoscopic Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (Endo TLIF). Furthermore, we had the honor of hosting a spine specialist from Indonesia,
Dr. Alif Noeriyanto Rahman, who treated pain without surgery using pain intervention techniques such as “injections” and “nerve blocks.”
In the afternoon session, there was also a Live Surgery Workshop to allow participants to learn and exchange ideas closely.
Dr. Dittaphong Boonampol, the director of S-Spine Hospital, revealed that organizing a workshop on endoscopic spine surgery was the first event of the year. Experts in spine surgery from Thailand and abroad joined to share their knowledge and experiences.
“Endoscopic spine surgery is a rather complex technique that requires a high level of expertise from the performing surgeon. S-Spine Hospital, as one of Thailand’s research and development centers for spinal disorders, recognizes the importance of advancing medical knowledge and technology. Therefore, organizing this talk presented a great opportunity for medical professionals interested in endoscopic spine surgery to exchange knowledge and experiences with experts from around the world. This exchange will contribute to the improvement of treatment quality,” Dr. Dittaphong concluded.
From this talk, it was evident that S-Spine and Nerve Hospital serves as a training center for spine specialists, with a focus on endoscopic spine surgery techniques. These techniques aim to achieve results similar to traditional major surgeries but with minimally invasive approaches. This also presented a great opportunity for medical professionals from abroad who are interested in learning new techniques from world-renowned experts. Such knowledge exchange contributes to the improvement of treatment quality, helping to reduce recovery time and allowing patients to return to normal life more quickly.
